Take a city break in Oslo this winter, to discover the Norwegian capital, which is situated at the head of beautiful Oslofjord.
A Nordic cultural hub, this city has an enticing mix of historical and modern-day attractions, including world renown sculpture parks, art, war and peace museums. Its maritime history has shaped this seafaring nation and can be experienced in Oslo’s cultural exhibits or by travelling through the skerries and islands of the fjord and eating in its wonderful Nordic restaurants.
If you are feeling brave and adventurous you may even want to try fjord ice bathing with one of the Oslofjord sauna companies. You can also consider combining your stay in Oslo with exploring some of the beautiful small fjord coastal villages and the perfectly preserved 16 th Century Fortress town of Fredrikstad or alternatively, combining with a mountain ski break.
